The St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation offers a variety of adult programs, including but not limited to Cabbage Ball, Adult Softball, Cornhole, and Line Dancing.

Co-Ed Cabbage Ball

Cabbage ball is a popular sport that originated in New Orleans and is similar to softball but played without gloves because of the size and softness of the ball.

League Information

Registration: 
  • 2025 Season Registration is open from July 1 - July 19.
  • A $20 late fee will be applied on the July 20th deadline.

  • League first comes, first serve. 
Season Info: 
  • Season runs from July - November. 
  • Games will take place Wednesday evenings at the West Bank Bridge Park unless otherwise noted.
  • Games will be completed in 7 innings or at the conclusion of 1 hour.
  • A single elimination tournament will take place at the end of the season to determine league champion.

The Adult Softball league provides St. Charles Parish men 21 and older an outlet for friendly competition on the softball diamond.

Registration:

Adult Softball Forms

Cornhole

In partnership with GNO Cornhole, the Department of Parks and Recreation hosts a 10-week Summer Cornhole League on Tuesday nights in the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center. The season begins on Tuesday, May 14. 

 Registration: 

  • Takes place yearly beginning mid-April.
  • Costs $100 per team of 2-6 players. Players of all ages are welcome to participate.

Line Dancing

Our adult modernized line dancing classes are always a hit with more than 150 participants putting on their dancing shoes and moving and grooving to the music to beat the summer heat. 

Class Information

Registration: 
  • Takes place yearly from May 1 - May 31.
  • Costs $10 per participant, includes a t-shirt. 
  • Registration is first come, first serve. Click here to register
  • A waitlist will be added if necessary.
Class Info: 
  • Classes will run for eight (8) weeks throughout June and July. 
  • Classes will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center Gymnasium. 
  • Participants should wear tennis shoes and workout clothing. 
  • Walk-ins will not be permitted to participate.
