East Bank Bridge Park Renovations Phase 1
The East Bank Bridge Park Phase I Renovations will mirror renovations completed at the West Bank Bridge Park in Spring 2024. The improvements at the East Bank Bridge Park will include two new turf fields, dugouts, batting cages, score boards, fencing, drainage and lighting improvements, two new tennis courts and pickleball courts, plus improvements to the concession stand and basketball court.
In addition to the recreational amenity upgrades, we will pave and stripe the gravel parking lot to allow for additional parking and enhanced safety for all who use the park.
This extensive renovation is generously supported by a $500,000 donation from our community partners at Valero.
The project is expected to completed Summer 2025.
Bethune Park - Improvements
Bethune Park renovations are underway and will be the first significant upgrade to the facility in 25 years. The renovations to the park will include a covered basketball court, pavilion, new lights around the fields, new fencing, sail shades that cover the bleachers, fully accessible playground, improved drainage and signage in remembrance of Bethune High School.
This improvement is funded by The Department of Parks and Recreation. The playground and basketball court covering will be added amenities thanks to a gift from our neighbors at Shell Norco.
The project is expected to be completed during the summer of 2025.
Levee Bench Project
This project includes the installation of nine levee benches on the East Bank and six on the West Bank. Specific locations on the East Bank include three benches in Montz, one in Norco, one in New Sarpy, one in Destrehan, and three in St. Rose. On the West Bank, benches will be placed at two locations in Ama, one in Luling, two in Hahnville, and one in Killona. These new additions will complement the existing levee benches already in place at both the East Bank and West Bank Bridge Parks.
