Post Date:April 07, 2025 3:55 PM

St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation’s family-friendly Fish Dat Rodeo is back for the fifth consecutive year and will take place on Saturday, May 10, at the Bonnet Carre’ Spillway Lower Guide Levee Boat Launch. Anglers of all ages are invited to participate in the fishing tournament and compete to catch fish in the following categories: bass, bream, catfish, sac-a-lait and miscellaneous.

The Fish Dat Rodeo has become a highly anticipated tradition for families and young anglers,” said Parks and Recreation Director Duane Foret. “By offering opportunities for both bank and boat fishing, we aim to create an inclusive experience that brings the community together and fosters a love for fishing.

Registration for anglers 12 years old and under is $10, and $15 for those 13 and older or boat captains. Participants can register online through May 9  https://bit.ly/4lA22oG.

Competition begins at safe-light with weigh-in at 1 p.m. Food and fun will follow the weigh-in as awards and door prizes will follow. To be eligible for one of the grand prizes, an angler must weigh in a fish.

The Fish Dat Rodeo is open to all St. Charles Parish residents and legal Louisiana fishing licensed persons. A Louisiana fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older. All Louisiana fishing regulations apply.
